Location: Cadboro-Gyro Park at the end of Sinclair Road and Penrhyn.
Parking: On-site parking is available.
Race Course: The race course will be out of Cadboro Bay. The proposed course (subject to change) will leave Caddy Bay, head west and go counter-clockwise out of the Oak Bay Marina. Boats will then travel southeast, keeping all channel markers and rocks on your left (no cutting through the rocks). Once you have passed the last rock in the Great Chain, you will turn left, heading north, back into Cadboro Bay.
This is a mass start at 9:30 a.m.
Please note: This is an open water event with extremely cold water conditions. The wearing of PFDs is at the discretion of the Race and Safety Directors.
Restrictions: Absolutely NO Flatwater crafts permitted. The Race Director reserves the right to deny a request to race to anyone whose vessel is deemed not safe with respect to water and weather conditions.
Equipment: PFD’s and boat leashes are MANDATORY. The Race Director reserves the right to deny a request to race if these conditions are not met.
Rescue: Huli/Self rescue experience is mandatory for all paddlers.
Waiver: Must be signed by all racers along with their registration form.
Insurance: All racers MUST be active members of CORA. A daily membership may be purchased on site for $10.00 if you are not already a member. Cash only please.
Early Registration: It is possible to register early for this race. Register your intent to by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with Small Boat in the subject line. Include your full name, your club name, your age class, your category, type of craft. Registration form and waiver will be available at the race site on race day.
